One really nice perk about living in Vienna Virginia is the quality of many of the local stores, especially when it comes to delicious food.
Although people will probably contest the results of an unscientific best local bakery poll being conducted by the Vienna Patch, an online magazine, the idea got me out and into some stores that I probably never would have visited. You know, it’s kind of hard when you live somewhere and you go to the same places to venture into something new… but, they pushed me out of my comfort zone to explore a little.
Thanks for getting me out of my routine!
It is fun to explore a new store like Sweet City Desserts or Silva’s Patisserie to see the wide variety of exceptional hand-made pastries and desserts that will make you think you have walked into a little piece of heaven. My regular stop has been Cenan’s Bakery where I pick up fresh baguette or couple cinnamon swirls to bring home. Yum!
Honestly, they are all delicious and all unique in one way or another. So, stop in.
But there is stiff competition from Great Harvest Bread Company, Amphora, Yas, Whole Foods and the Pie Gourmet – to name a few. With choices like these I think you can understand why people are interested in living here.
